What Is
Scalp Micropigmentation

A Non-Surgical Hair Loss Treatment

Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) can also be referred to as a cosmetic hair tattoo. It is a non-surgical cosmetic treatment that can create the appearance of closely shaved hair or help camouflage some types of hair loss and suitable scalp scars. SMP is performed by our highly skilled practitioners using specially formulated micro needles, machines and techniques to deposit pigment into the upper dermis of the scalp. These tiny pigment deposits are placed to resemble closely shaved hair follicles and are matched to your skin tone and existing hair where appropriate. The aim is a natural-looking result, although outcomes vary from person to person.

Some changes may be visible after the first session, but treatment is usually completed over three sessions. This allows the practitioner to build up the pigment gradually, assess how your scalp responds and refine the result between appointments.

SMP may suit people with male pattern baldness, a receding hairline, a thinning crown, some forms of alopecia or suitable scalp scars. Suitability depends on the individual and should be discussed with an experienced practitioner during a consultation.

Our
Equipment & Pigments

Our SMP machines are the cutting edge of technology. Although the art of SMP is in our practitioners techniques, using the the highest quality equipment adds to the experience.
Our natural pigments have been specifically designed and created for the scalp only. Our pigments are charcoal based and do not consist of any constituent colours whatsoever and therefore can never change in colour. Although SMP can be reffered to as a medical hair tattoo, we never use tattoo inks or semi permanent make-up pigments (which are made up of colours) pigment appearance can change over time, and results vary by individual.

Our pigments have been used in many treatments. Your practitioner will discuss realistic expectations and suitability during your consultation.

SMP is a cosmetic option for people experiencing hair loss. A consultation can help determine whether it is suitable for your scalp, hair-loss pattern and goals.
